A simple to follow route to find the medieval Kymissala Tower
Kymissala Tower is a medieval fortification constructed by the Knights of St John. This impressive well preserved tower is in a small remote bay only accessible on foot. This walk starts from the village of Monolithos and is predominantly quiet road walking with some rough track and rugged footpath.

A hike up the Akramítis mountain
This is probably the less demanding route to scale Mount Akramítis. The hike offers panoramic views, varying terrains, and historical sites. The return trip can take around 5 hours to cover approximately 8 km, allowing for time to admire the sites and rest.

A 7 mile walk up to the working monastery Ipseni then onto Glystra Beach
Moni Ipseni is a working female monastery in the hills above Lardos. This really is a journey into another world and something well worth the pilgrimage. The return is along tracks through the forest which then leads down to Glystra beach. A very rewarding walk.

An extensive hike to Fourni Beach, taking in the coastline with spectacular views. This is a challenging walk and the return route is by road although there is supposedly a path directly back from the beach, it is certainly not easy to access.

Easy walk to an historic windmill
A short walk to the historic windmill of Monolithos. This is a traditional Rhodian mill with a cylindrical stone tower and a distinctive timber cap with a conical roof. The windmill offers a panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and the nearby islets. It is one of the finest examples of medieval Greek technology and a symbol of the the village's and the island's rich heritage.

A straight forward easy wander from Monolithos village to the castle
Monolithos Castle is one of the regular tourist destinations on Rhodes. The fort overlooks the coast and makes an ideal place to watch the sun slowly dip down into the sea at the end of the day.

A fairly simple walk along dirt tracks and paths between Monolithos and Siana
Siana (Σιάνα) has a lot to offer the visitor including the magnificent church of Saint Panteleimonas (Αγίου Παντελεήμονα) and a museum in the former church building. This walk provides a rural route that connects Monolithos to Siana to provide a full days walking and sightseeing.

A climb to the peak of the third highest mountain on Rhodes
This walk follows a well defined route from Salakos up to the summit of the mountain known as Profitis Ilias. The mountain side is the location of the reputed Mussolini's Villa which is now a dilapidated ruin. with outstanding views from the summit it is worth persevering over the more strenuous final climb to the top.

A straight forward walk along well defined tracks from Salakos to the coast at Kalavarda
A walk through the hills from Salakos to Kalavarda village and onto the beach. This is over a 10km hike in one direction but the views are amazing and the terrain is more rolling than climbing.
